In today’s marketplace, young leaders are hungry. They value purpose and ownership of their cause. However, be careful of what you teach them, because they are a passionate generation rising.

Have you noticed your young leaders that are emerging in your workplace? What do you see in them? How do you teach excellence and not perfection? We must be developed ourselves to stay 10 steps ahead of them.

How do older leaders mentor the next?

  1. We teach self-awareness – they are still learning who they are and what’s important.
  2. We have honest conversations – transparency builds character.
  3. We will serve in higher capacity ourselves with more experienced leaders – to challenge and strengthen their decision making under pressure.
  4. We speak life over each other – encouraging each other builds unity and bonds.
  5. We provide stretching opportunities – Challenge their leadership capability and capacity.
  6. We push each other to read leadership books – hold each other accountable for wisdom and knowledge.
  7. We challenge each other to dream with audacity – help them see and know who our God is (Unlimited Creativity)

How are you developing your young leaders? Do you know what avenues you can take to do this? Where will your organization be in 6 months because you decided to life coach a young leader?

What are your next steps?
